A GRIM AND SINISTER ALEPH

Lock all the doors of my roaming,
down the streets of sorrow
I’m backward walking.
Leave me out and see,
I try to fit in somewhere
and feel like a refugee.
Spiraling in the dark, it got
me, pain is a human pleasure
concentrated in just one spot.
A grim and sinister Aleph,
indeed, conveying the black river
that flows through the veins of Earth.
Call my name in all languages
the answer comes from within
I am here for the carnages.
Ispirata da J. L. Borges, in particolare L’Aleph (1949).
